Russia is one of a few countries that spans across two continents, with the western half lying in Europe and the eastern half lying in Asia.

Eastern Russia, often referred to as Siberia, lies in Northern Asia. The majority of the land is undeveloped, with a population density of slightly less than 1 person per square km.
