VLADIVOSTOK

The largest Russian port on the Pacific Coast, Vladivostok is home to not only the city’s 600,000+ residents, but also Russia’s Pacific Naval Fleet.

Cruise ships will often visit this northern location as an outlying port of a Japanese circumnavigation, or more rarely as part of a North Pacific crossing.

Cruise ships arrive into the beautiful, scenic downtown setting of the Morskoy Terminal, right beside the city train station, built as the last point of the Trans-Siberian Railway.

A short, picturesque stroll into the downtown area will take you pass many historic buildings and statues, as well as religious monuments.

If your visit aligns with a nice weather day, we recommend taking the funicular up to the top of Eagles Nest Hill for sweeping panoramic views of the city.

While there is some English spoken around the city, Russian is the primary language. Plan accordingly by downloading a language translation app!

Currency is the Russian Ruble. While Euro’s are sometimes accepted, local currency is your best bet. Your cruise line may offer currency exchange onboard, and there is a currency exchange inside the terminal building ashore, albeit with varying opening hours.
