SINGAPORE

Singapore is a multi-cultural sovereign city-state just shy of 6 million people, and it is often a point of embark/debark for a Southeast Asian itinerary.

There are two main cruise port facilities that are 5 mi/ 8 km apart. Smaller and mid-sized ships usually dock at Harbourfront Centre, a ferry/cruise port and major shopping mall all in one right across from Sentosa island. Standard and larger ships will most likely arrival into the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, a purpose-built facility that offers stunning views and easy access to Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands.

Both terminals are centrally located with nearby subway access. Harbourfront Centre has a station of the same name located below the shopping center while Marina South Pier MRT Station is located .5 mi/ 800m outside the Marina Bay Cruise Center. Singapore’s subway system is one of the cleanest, quietest, and most efficient in the world, and a great way to get around the city.

Singapore offers endless travel opportunities. You can sip a Singapore Sling at Raffles, marvel at the light show at Gardens by the Bay, and fulfill your shopping needs on Orchard Lane, just to name a few options. Be sure try out some top-notch street food (HERE are some “gateway” foods to try for non adventure eaters), or check out the hidden gem Haw Par Villa for a completely bizarre look into Singapore’s culture.
