HALIFAX, Nova Scotia

Halifax is the provincial capital of Nova Scotia, Canada. It’s a bustling economic hub with a dense concentration of government offices, private companies, and plenty of tourism opportunities.

To experience the charm of the city, start with a walk along the Halifax boardwalk. There are pristine waterfront views and plenty of cafes and restaurants to enjoy along the way.  Stroll up the main shopping thoroughfare, Spring Garden Road, to the Halifax Public Gardens for a peaceful look at Nova Scotia flora.

Visiting one of the many historic sites is also a must. Pay a visit to the Halifax Citadel National History Site, a 1856 fortress sitting atop a hill. Also consider taking a tour through the Province House and paying a visit to the Canadian Museum of Immigration. Another must visit museum is the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Here you can learn about the Titanic and Halifax explosion.                

If you’ve been to Halifax and are looking for something further afield, there are plenty of options available. Consider taking a quick 15 minute ferry ride to Dartmouth—a small walkable town flushed with cafes, restaurants, galleries and shops. Or take a day trip to the picturesque Luneburg. Other options to consider include a trip to Peggy’s Cove to marvel at the lighthouse, or a food and wine tour in Wolfville.
