FORT-DE-FRANCE, MARTINIQUE
Fort-de-France is the capital of Martinique, a French overseas territory. It’s famous for its colonial architecture, tropical flowers, and beautiful beaches, and has numerous travel opportunities on offer.
The first thing you’ll notice about For-de-France are the impressive buildings. Important ones to see include the Bibliothèque Schoelcher, the Palais de Justice, and St Louis Cathedral. But no matter where go, you’re sure to see some stunning buildings that are photo worthy.
Hungry for nature? Head to La Savane—a 13 acre park boasting beautiful blooms and swaying palms. Or make the 6mi/10km trip to the Botanical Garden, which has a highly recommended 1 hour walk that comes with an audio guide!
If you want to spend the day at the beach, you’ll be faced with the challenging task of which one to choose. Some options to consider include Pointe de Bout, Anse Ceron, Plage des Salines, and Diamant Beach.
And for foodies and shopper, pay a visit to the Grand Market where you’ll find everything from produce to crafts.
